Maxivision Eye Clinic is a specialized eye centre at Nairobi’s City Centre. It has two branches with the main clinic located at IPS building, Kimathi street, 3rdfloor. It is a well equipped and professionally run clinic that started in the year 2013 under KAM Health services in IPS Building,2ndfloor, wing A. In January 2019, the facility rebranded to Maxivision Eye Clinic and moved to the spacious 3rdfloor, wing B of the same building. In April 2019, a satellite clinic (Moi Avenue Branch) was opened at Optica house building, 2ndfloor.
Maxivision Eye Clinic is run by a team of Specialised and experienced ophthalmologists among them Dr Nyenze Muindi, Dr Mukiri Mukuria and Dr Mutua Tigo. There are also visiting ophthalmologists including Dr Stella Mugho and Dr Cliff Muturi. This team, backed by state of the art equipment has changed the level of care for eye patients in the region. The location of the clinic has also reduced the inconvenience many patients experienced by having to leave the city centre to get specialized eye care.

Dr Nyenze Muindi is a consultant ophthalmologist with more than 12 years experience as an eye specialist and 6 years experience as a sub-specialist in oculoplastics/ orbit. He graduated as a medical doctor at Moi University in the year 2001 after which he worked as a general practitioner at the then Coast Province for 3 years. He later joined the Masters of Medicine Program at the University of Nairobi and graduated in the year 2007. As he was pursuing his masters degree, he also excelled in the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) exams. He later also excelled in the fellowship exams for East African College of Ophthalmoly (now College of Ophthalmologists of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa, COECSA). He further pursued sub specialist training in oculoplastics and orbit in the leading eye hospitals in India (LV Prasad Eye Institute and Aravind Eye Hospital.
Dr Nyenze worked as an ophthalmologist at Garissa Provincial General Hospital and Muranga District before settling down at the current engagements as both a lecturer at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Nairobi and consultant at Maxivision Eye clinic. He is a competent, diligent and dedicated clinician and a highly skilled eye surgeon. Dr Mukiri is a consultant ophthalmologist with over 10 years experience in eye care. Prior to this, he had worked as a medical officer in Meru district hospital and as a Medical officer of Health in Marsabit District. He enrolled for further studies and completed the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) exams while pursuing his Master’s degree in Ophthalmology from the University of Nairobi. He thereafter worked in Narok and Transmara districts as the Zonal Eye Surgeon and involved in numerous prevention of blindness programs at national level which has seen him travel widely including Turkana, Marsabit, Makueni, Koibatek, East Pokot, Isiolo, Kitui, Mwingi and Mbeere districts.
Dr Mukiri later joined the University of Nairobi, Department of Ophthalmology as a lecturer, a position he has held for the past 7 years. During this time he obtained the Fellowship of East African College of Ophthalmology (FEACO) as well as subspecialty fellowship training in Cornea at Aravind Eye Hospital and Phacoemulsification cataract surgery at Arasan Eye Hospital both in India. Dr Mukiri brings a wealth of experience as a consultant ophthalmologist to Maxivision Eye Clinic and you are more than welcome to book an appointment with him.

We maintain the highest sterile and clean conditions in our OT’s. We have a weekly terminal disinfections programme and we have a highly sophisticated CSSD.
